I have an upcoming shoot where I need 6 camcorders to do night shooting. Shooting in pitch black but will be using infrared illuminators.

    Any ideas?

I like the canon cameras as I can get longer record times with SD cards.

    Thanks in advance.

Are you going to be shooting in HD or SD? Pro cams or consumer?

I’d love to shoot HD, but record times are an issue.

If no HD then at least 16×9. Is there such a beast?

Most of the Canons sold now only have a low light mode listed, same for Sony, the Canon SD version cams(fs31,fs300) have a “Night Mode” listed, but whether this is a true “Night Shot” mode where the IR filter is removed from the optical path or a slow shutter mode you would have to check with Canon Sales to verify it.

I just noticed that part of the message I had posted did not show up, but what I added was that alot of the sony consumer cams have night shot modes, I know the HC3/5/7/9 series and the some of the tapeless consumer cams have a nightshot function, I don’t know about the most recent ones
