Imagine if my illustration is of a slot car/scalextric track with zig zags and curves.

So I bring that in from Illustrator. Then I copy the path and use that as a motion path in a null.

So I can attach the camera to the null and I get a certain effect – but not the one I’m after.

What I want is the view from the car – a few inches up from the “road” looking at the road and following the twist and turns as it unfolds. The road is not flat but tilted as if on a horizon line… I’m finding it very difficult to achieve.

Seen a tutorial for this anywhere…. useful expressions, Project files?

    Any help gratefully recieved.

Rick Gerhard had 2 tutorials on the Cow dealing with this exact technique, I’ve done a cursory search but can’t locate them.

The technique Rick uses is to tie the camera’s POI to a null with a simple pick whip expression. Animate the camera position and then the null. Its best to position the null at the camera’s intended eye level first.

Sorry I can’t find the tutorials on line.
