    Hey,

I’m new to AE (currently using CS3) and love coming here to see how things are done. I’ve watched all of the VideoCopilot tutorials, so I do have a grasp on how tools, nulls, parenting, etc. works. Here’s what I’d like to do:

This will essentially look like a car chase. The camera angle is similar to sitting in a big rig looking down at a Mini. I’d like to have a line drawing itself (no pen/pencil etc) and the camera chases it, following the same line but slightly offset so that it has a natural chase feel. At the end, the camera whips around and zooms out so you can see what the line has drawn, be it a word or logo of some sort. The line would be thick and flat, maybe slightly elevated off the “ground” with a shadow. I guess another way of looking at it is using one of the growing elements from Evolution off VideoCopilot. Camera zoomed in as the item grows, following it along at the angle described, then pulling out to reveal the whole element.

Not really looking for a step by step, just need to know where to start. Primarily, how to have a camera follow a point at an angle, not just straight overhead. Also, as the line turns, I may want to be able to see its path in the distance.

    Thanks for all your help!
