    camcorder to buy

    Hello all

    I am looking for advice on a camcorder to purchase.
    My budget is not to exceed US5,000.00.

    I edit using Vegas and would like a camcorder with few issues in video transfer, etc. etc.

    Does your $5,000 have to cover camera, mics, tripod, lights? Or just the camcorder itself?

    Assuming the 5 grand is for your camera alone, I’d consider:

    –Sony HDRFX1000 ($3,200 at B&H last time I looked)(consumer model with most of features of Z7u)
    –Sony HVR Z5u ($4,099)
    –Sony HVR Z7u ($4,900)
    –Canon XH A1 ($2,999)
    –Canon XH A1s ($3,999)

    No doubt, others will have other ideas.

    I suspect you’ll be very happy. You may want to eventually get a Beachtek audio XLR box.
