Calibri font in Boris Title 3D
Hi.
My client insists on using Calibri font that he has in Microsoft Office for Windnows. That font is not available in Boris Title 3D.
I Googled about installing Calibri font on a Mac.
I found this page and installed Open XML Coverter, but still don’t see Calibri font in the list of Fonts in Boris or any other software.
I also tried installing Boris Calligraphy 2.2, but still don’t see Calibri font! I tried restarting my computer.
I am using Final Cut Pro 7.0.3 with Mac OS X 10.6.7.
Was anyone able to successfully use Calibri font with Boris?

I was waiting for a Mac user to possibly answer you but since no one has… here is how I understand it.
Boris will only see fonts that you have installed. The problem is that the new fonts like Calibri are “Microsoft only” fonts shipped with Vista/Windows 7, meaning: the use of these fonts are restricted to only Microsoft Windows operating systems according to the terms of the license. So it is illegal to use on Mac or Linux (but apparently people still do).
I have them on my Windows 7 64-bit workstation and they display fine in Boris 3D Text.
You would need to buy a Windows PC or find some underhanded way to steal the fonts from another piece of Microsoft software. I believe that’s what the site you pointed to was trying to do. Either way, there is no “legal” way a Mac user to do this without using Microsoft Windows.

Thank you John for your reply. I do have a PC with Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit in addition to my MacBook Pro. You said you have the Windows fine display in your Boris 3D text. Could you please tell me how you were able to install them on your Mac?

That’s what I was trying to say. You can’t install them on your Mac. Not legally at least. They are only licensed for use on Windows.
