I’ve been trying to calibrate a monitor for the past couple of days. Never done it before. For anyones info it’s a TV Logic LVM-240W. I’m monitoring via SDI. I want to calibrate for PAL footage. My brightness and contrast seem good – pluge bars look good and white bar just turned down from pure white, but I’m having problem with the chroma. When i switch to blue only, with the chroma set to it’s centre value, my two outer blue bars don’t match their sub-bars. I adjust the chroma up and they begin to blend, but throw the middle bars out – there doesn’t seem to be any happy medium. When I forget about the sub-bars and just match all the bars to a similar tone of blue then my chroma level is up at 20 and everything looks scorching!

I’m obviously doing something wrong. Any ideas?

Do you have a scope to verify your video signal is intact?

Do you have another monitor to test with (just to rule out monitor issues)?

Have you tried a different cable (doubt this is the problem, just throwing it out there)?
