Calibrated{Q} MXF Import for OSX
Has anyone heard of this company? They’re releasing a product that is supposed to allow me to import Avid MXF into FCP, similar to MXF4Mac. Except that MXF4Mac is 399 euros and Calibrated is only $89.99. It should be in the store on June 2. I’ll be trying it, interested in anyone else’s experience with the company.

I have used the Calibrated MXF import software for P2 with great success. Works fine. MXF4QT has more bells and whistles, but Calibrated works fine.

Calibrated Software have been churning out excellent products (including MXF Import) to enable MXF based workflows and expanded codec support in and between FCP and other NLE’s for some time now. Last year we bought their XD Decode for Windows product for use on our Carbon Coder PC and its been a godsend … it does exactly what it says on the box, and I’ve no reason to believe any of their other products are any less reliable. Greg Booth, the developer keeps an eye on the boards here and I’m sure he’ll answer any questions you have on this latest update to his MXF Import product.
FWIW … MXF4Mac, tried and tested too. Awesome. Developed by Bjoern Adamski who also supports his product right here on the COW.

Hi there,
I just want to confirm that by using Calibrated Q I will be able to import Avid MXF files into Final Cut. Anyone tried this with PAL MXF files? I will need to import PAL MXF 10:1 (50i) files into Final Cut on an Intel mac.
