Hi. I’ve just finished authoring a DVD of under 4GBs and just out of curiosity decided to check the size of that project’s cache directory.
To my amazement I discovered it was 46 GBs!!!

What the!!? Why on earth is it using 46GBs of my harddrive?
Now that I’ve finished the project can I delete it?
If I try and reload the project and there’s no cache directory what will Encore do??

Now I’m wondering if Encore has been eating massive chunks of my harddrives this way for the last couple of years!!

    Any thoughts?

I bought the video tutorial to Encore CS4 and was told there that it was fine to delete the cache and at times advisable if Encore starts acting up. I have now deleted my cache for several projects with no ill effects. I do it routinely to clear the space eater and have always been able to re-open my project and even burn more copies.

Thanks Ginny! Ahhh, my harddrive breathes a huge sigh of relief…
