  • Cache-A Transfer summary not updating “error is unrecoverable”

Posted by Aaron Duprey on October 16, 2013 at 1:54 pm

Something weird is going on with our Cache-A’s transfer log. I’m still able to back up to tape, and the unit appears to be functioning as usual. I can see the progress of each file at the bottom of the screen, and when the backup is complete, the item(s) appear in my tape directory. However, the transfer manager is NOT updating. I’m usually able to scroll through the list of transferred files, to be sure that there were no errors. But I’m getting this now:

I’ve tried restarting and shutting down the unit.

Any ideas as to how to fix this?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Aaron,

Your system is definitely reporting something in the transfer summary I haven’t seen. This is going to require you reach out to our support group (email us at support@cache-a.com with your serial number) and we’ll do a support connection and take a look at your system. This is not something that can be diagnosed or repaired in a public forum.

    Tom,

Sorry again for taking so long to reply. The problem corrected itself once the VTAPE was erased.
