    Cable Suggestions For LanShare

    Hi All,

    I would like to know if anyone in the forum can suggest a high quality GigE net cable for the interconnect between workstations and LanShare. The run is about 150 feet. A Belden number, or manufacturer name, etc. I would like to run the best I can find. The usual 5e stuff I have now doesn’t impress me for GB work.

    Danny,

    We’ve used Systimax-I GigaSpeed XL 3071E 4/23 CAT 6. IEC 332-1. You definitely shouldn’t use Cat 5 as it isn’t rated for Gigabit use.

    We haven’t had any issues at all relating to cables and curently have around 60 NewsCutters running either on LanShare or Unity.
