I noticed the reply to my previous post after I posted this one. I forgot about my new email account that I got for this forum. Anyway, I need to ask a more detailed question along the same lines.

I want a program that can have two active viewports side by side. The edit object will be seen simultaneously in both as I work. One view will be from a different user-determined angle. This is for the purpose of viewing the modeling in stereo with an optical viewer called a Pokescope. Can Cinema 4D do this so that the updates while working will not get bogged down, or update at different rates between the two viewports?

First, I would model a rough subd object in C4D and export to ZBrush. I would be importing finished detailed meshes from ZBrush to C4D and composing scenes.

Would I be able to have the two viewports again (as above) when I arrange scenes, even with all the very dense meshes? I have been looking at XSI 6.5 and notice their Gigapolygon feature. Would this be better for what I am planning?

    Hi,

I don’t understand. Have you already read and tried what I have written in my last answer?
Of course It depends on the power of your CPU and your graphic card and the density of your meshes how fast the editor screens update.
They will not update all at once but on after each other, so you cannot have 100% in sync updates, but you can get close. Most of the time you will not be able to notice any time lag between updating views.
Why don’t you just download the demo and try by yourself with the kind of mesh density you plan to use?
