    Hi,

I have a quick question, as every forum I’ve come across has only spoken about the financial pros & cons.
I’m specing a new pc for work, and I’ve suggested twin graphics cards, as to my understanding it will increase render time, but our IT guy seems to be under the impression that C4D and Vray can’t use two graphics cards.
Does any one have this set up or know if adding a second card makes a difference?

    Cheers,

    Nick Smith

You should specify which graphic card. Using two instead of a better one nowadays is the wrong choice. Two of the best is allways better.

When you say C4D do you mean the viewport aspect of the application? I’m not sure If it can share the vram of both cards, I’ll guess no. Vray on its basic usage uses cpu for render, so your gpu will have no influence also. To get improved results you’ll need renderers that make use of multiple gpus, such as Octane. I’m not familiar with the interactive modes of vray. But i’m guessing vray will too have modes that renders using gpu. Just not sure If they use multiple or single at the moment. they’re site surely will stipulate that.

Thanks for the response, View poort I know supports OpenGL.
I ended up emailing Vray and they confirmed that their render engine does support crossfire graphics cards.
