I’ve been working on a project for days, and successfully rendering both still and Quicktime movies from it, and suddenly C4D has started rendering from the wrong (not active) camera view, no matter what I do!

I’ve checked every setting I can find or think of and nothing stops it from rendering from one particular camera in the scene (call it CameraX), no matter what camera I’m viewing through. If I view through some other camera in Perspective view (call it CameraY) and do “Render Region” and draw out a region, it renders the right region from the right (active) camera in the viewer.

But as soon as I select “Render to picture viewer” it starts rendering from CameraX again!

I can’t find anything in any of the documentation that seems to explain this behavior at all. Can anybody give me any clue about what is happening? I’d really like to keep what’s left of my hair…

Set the camera you want to use as your active view, go to the viewport’s Edit menu, and click on the “Set as render view” command.
