Could anyone please recommend a way I can speed things up in C4D?
I am modelling a building at the moment and have used quite a lot of layers to make all the panels for the windows etc. I have then copied the finished model to create an identical one and then used the boole tool to chop it up a little so I realise there is quite a lot of info for C4D to take care of.
It is now taking ages to open the document and just takes ages to process the information even when I make the odd little change like moving the model and just trying to click on another layer. It is basically imposs to work on.
I am using a fairly new Imac bought in Feb with intel chip and 1GB of Ram. I have just ordered another 4GB hoping this well make a difference.
Any suggestions would be really welcome?
    cheers

memory would likely help but nothing will save you from some things. Do the windows need that much detail? Could they be simpler and look the same? How close do you get to them?
How much booling is going on? Any generator takes calculation every frame/change it can be quicker to just make it editable unless you are animating the booles and they need to stay booles.
