    Hi guys,
I’m creating a scene with a lot of light bulbs- about 70. I have an area light inside the filament of the light bulb model, and I’m copy-and-pasting the light bulb over and over. I’m about half way done and I can tell my computer isn’t going to be able to support the composition once all the lights are placed.

Is there a way to optimize your scene to support many lights?

It may be more physically correct if you are trying to emulate an incandescent bulb with frosted glass but area lights are a lot more expensive in render time and they are most useful when you are close to them, if you have 70 lights in the scene you might as well use point lights
