C4D R23 Kernel Panic – Mac OS X Big Sur
Hi all. I am experiencing constant kernel panics on Big Sur 11.2.3 on a Mac Pro 5,1 with an AMD Radeon 5700XT when running R23.110. I cannot reproduce with exact steps because it happens at random times. In fact, when I reboot the system and launch C4D again, I can continue where I left off without issue until the next kernel panic. Sometimes I’m moving a point, other times I’m rotating in the perspective viewport, and all of a sudden the screen goes black and the system restarts.
It’s not a power to the card issue because I have the Pixlas mod on this system. Also, Houdini, Nuke, ArchiCAD, all work just fine. I only get the kernel panics when running C4D.
It seems to have gotten worse since installing the 11.2.3 Big Sur update because I was only receiving the kernel panics here and there prior to that. Wondering if anyone has a suggestion on how I can resolve this because right now it’s unusable.
The crazy thing is that I’ve got a Mac laptop running 11.3 and the exact same version of C4D on the built-in AMD graphics and there are 0 issues.
