C4D-r11.5
hey all,
Does anyone know the release date of R11.5? I have been looking to buy C4D, but not sure if I should wait for 12. What do you think?Thanks!

R11.5 came out in sept. 2009
There is only a 1 month grace period if you buy it too soon.
Maxon never say anything about upcoming releases so you never know when the next one is coming./randy

I didn’t know about the grace period, that’s pretty cool. Most companies don’t even do that. Does Maxon tend to announce the release at a convention? Or are they just whenever they are ready?

Sometimes announcements come around Siggraph but in recent years they’ve been more random.

For the least three x.0, each release has been about two years apart. If that trend holds true, R12 would be announced around August of this year. Siggraph is at the end of July so it wouldn’t surprise me if there was an announcement.
No inside knowledge on this, btw — just reading the tea leaves.

ya I think I will wait for a few months. I am guessing that Siggraph is a prime opportunity to announce 12. I will look for it this summer. Thanks!
