Hope someone can help me with this.

I’m new to C4D and would like to be able to convert illustrator vector illustrations, like logos into 3D. If I open an Ilustrator file in C4D, I cannot figure out how to make the image editable in order to extrude.

I’m sure this is a very simple process, I just can’t figure it out

    Any help….?

Save As out of Illustrator (‘Export’ from Illustrator CS1), as Illustrator version 8. In the Object Manager of C4D, pull down File>Load Object, and load the AI file.

It’ll come in as paths out in the wilderness of your Cinema 4D space. It comes in centered at 0,0,0 if you make your AI ruler centerpoint be the centerpoint of your artwork before saving as and importing to C4D.

when the paths come in, they’re only paths. how do I turn them into objects that I can extrude, etc?
