I purchased a c4d file off turbosquid and then tried to add it to a scene in AE with Zaxwerks, but it’s giving me the error message “This C4D file was unable to be imported. Perhaps the wrong format was selected or the file is of an unsuppoerted version.” Is there anything I can do here?

    Hi Airkogan.

If you can send me the file (matt@zaxwerks.com) or make it available somewhere,
I can see where the import process is failing. If it’s something easy to fix, I may
can send you a prerelease version of the software with a bug fix.

Otherwise, you may be able to import it into another 3D application and then export
it into another Zaxwerks-supported format from there.

    Thanks.

The Zaxwerks FAQ says C4D objects must be saved in version 5.

If that object is a different version, the solution would be to reopen it in C4D or another app that can read it and export it in C4D version 5 format or another Invigorator compatible format.

    Hope this helps.

    Hey Matt,

This “posting answers at exactly the same time” thing has gotta stop. 😉

It’s good to know the advice is pretty similar.
