    Hello there,

I switched on my C100 for the first time this morning, hooked it up to my Ninja-2, did the necessary menu adjustments so I can fire the Ninja-2 from the C100 and set about looking at picture quality.

    C100 :
    24 Mpbs
    LCPM
    50i

    Ninja-2
    1080i50
    ProRes 422

I’ve shot a few slow(ish) pans and tilts but when the footage is slotted directly into FCP7 (checking that I choose the same settings as the clip), I have noticed that on these movements, the picture seems to be somewhat jittery. On solid lock-off shots, it’s fine (naturally), but the results on movements in FCP7 aren’t exactly satisfactory. I am not whipping it left and right, just a few slow gentle pans. The image on both the C100 and the Ninja-2 screens are perfect …

    Here’s what I mean:

Could this be how FCP sees an interlaced picture? Is there a workaround or does something need changing within the C100?

Thanks for any help you can give.

    William,

No the problem still exists and, yes, I am aware that the only illustration of this has been deleted.

The problem I have is that whichever sequence setting I use in FCP7 or menu setting within the C100, ANY and ALL resulting files that are supposed to be progressive look terrible. This is something I simply can’t understand.

    Herewith, 2 separate projects:

    C100 settings:
    System Freq: 59.94 Hz
    24Mbps
    LPCM
    PF30
    1/50 shutter

    Ninja-2 settings:
    ProRes HQ
    1080p29.97 (2:2)

    FCP7 sequence settings:
    1920 x 1080
    Square
    None
    29.97
    Compressor: ProRes HQ

Pans and tilts look ’strobe-like’ and the picture isn’t as ‘smooth’ as expected. YouTube test gives much the same result.

    Same for the following:

    C100 settings:
    System Freq: 50.00 Hz
    24Mbps
    LPCM
    PF25
    1/50 shutter

    Ninja-2 settings:
    ProRes HQ
    1080p25 (2:2)

    FCP7 sequence settings:
    1920 x 1080
    Square
    None
    25
    Compressor: ProRes HQ

I would be grateful for any help that anyone could shed on this …

    Kind regards,

    Colin

    Hi Colin,

I know this is a long time after you posted this thread, but do you remember solving the issue above?
I have had exactly the same problem and can’t find a way past it.

Mine was this spec that you put on there, minus the ninja(as I didn’t use one)

    Thanks in advance!
