    Hi there,

I’m using two cameras on a shoot – the C100 with an atomos ninja and a C300. The atomos ninja records at a higher bit rate then the c300 so my question is this – if I mix the footage on the same timeline will I have to render one of the sets of footage if the MBPS are different? They’ll both be prores, 16.9 etc.

    Many thanks,

    Eddie

The Ninja records ProRes…the C300 internally records XDCAM 422 MXF files. The data rate differs because they are using different compression schemes. Once you convert the C300 to ProRes, if you convert to the same ProRes format as the Ninja recorded footage, then the data rates will match, as will the codecs…so all will be good.
