  • Bypassing the Time Code in the Capture window

Posted by Pedro Casais on May 12, 2009 at 3:19 am

I’m trying to capture a tape that has bad Time Code and in the Log and Capture window (FCP 6.1) there’re no options where you can select to capture or not the channels, either video, audio or Time code.

I have a dv player hooked through firewire and the FCP software just grabs the video channel, audio and time code autimatically. Can I bypass the time code within the FCP software and if so where?

    Thank you.

    Try “Capture Now”.

That’s how I am capturing the clips, but what I need to find out is how to capture them the way I’m doing it now but without the time code embedded on the clip, since it breaks every five minutes and aborts the process.

    Hola Pedro,
FC abort the capture even with Capture Now?
if so, you need to change your Preferences.
Uncheck “Abort capture on dropped frames”.
Set “On TC break: Wrn After capture”.
Uncheck “Warn when importing non-optimized media”.

You should also try changing device control to non-controllable device.

    In Audio/Video Setting> Device Control.
