Bypassing P2. The guys at the Panasonic roadshow had a 100gb firestore unit retail in NZ $3500. They also priced two 8gb cards for me at $4500. It wasnt much of a leap to work out that bypassing the P2 card would save a helluva lot of money, $35 per GB or $280 per GB is a no brainer. I know you can connect the cam to a fairly cheap firewire enclosure and dump footage down does anyone know whether you can record direct to these drives? Logic would dictate not or firestore wouldn’t be charging 3.5k for a drive when a $200 drive would do a similar job.

Two 8GB cards for $4500? That is a bit much. They go for $1400 each…$2800.

    Big price drop last month.
