Buzzing Audio Removal
I am editing video on FCP7, and a project came in where some crackling in the audio occurs about every other second for the full hour of recording. I am fairly convinced it is the quality of equipment that the person recording was working with, however, is there a way to remove the buzzing from an audio track that was recorded into the one microphone? The REDUCE NOISE filter on Soundtrack PRO is not what I need, nor is the HUM REMOVAL on FCP7. Thoughts?

Well, the really popular tools like Izotope can do it, but its pretty costly. You can try using a parametric equalizer effect to noch-filter-out just the buzz. You will still lose some of the desired sound, but it may be acceptable.

I would give Soundsoap a go. Bias Peak used to come bundled with FCP, vs 3 I think. They made Soundsoap and it has since been developed into vs 3, now sold on Soundness. I’ve used it for noise reduction quite a bit. But it also removes pops, clicks, hum, rumble, etc. You can find it here:
