I’m getting ready to purchase some ram for my power mac G5 2.5 dual processor. Just a few questions…I was doing some pricing…and I’m thinking about buying 2 gigs. On crucial.com it seems cheaper to buy 512×4 then it is to just purchase 1gigx2…I’m pretty sure I have enough slots to buy 512×4.any suggestions on what to purchase or from where…someone reccomended crucial.com, but is there anywhere else I should look?? Thanks..

Crucial is the only RAM I recommend to anyone. All of my machines run RAM from there.

    Hi,

The only advantage of getting one gig chips is that you use less slots which means you will be able to add more in the future. Your machine has 8 slots total so if you use four slots you won’t have very many remaining.

At the current prices it will cost under $50 to get the one gig chips. $50 is not much to pay for to have more remaining slots for future expansion.
