  • Buying Premiere Pro?

    Hi all,

I work a lot on Media Composer, Davinci Resolve and still FCP7. These apps I have paid for and are mine.
I’m now getting job offers on Premiere and want to get it and get up to speed.

Can you still buy it or is it now essentially renting the app? How are you lot doing it?

    Thanks for any feedback.

It’s all subscription model through the Creative Cloud. We have five workstations at the office all running Cloud and we love it.

I think I’ve been on the Cloud two years now since they first introduced it as an option.

You can go month to month (so think per project in your mind)…
the deal is better with a longer commitment…

If you prefer to own your apps rather than rent them, you can still find CS6 for sale on ebay and elsewhere.

Yep and CS6 is still available in the Cloud too. I would STRONGLY advise going with the current versions of PPro over CS6 because the changes have made the tool so much more efficient in CC and CC 2014. If you’re looking to get work today, most likely the shops will be using the Cloud version of PPro. It’s more cost effective to go Cloud and just go month to month if you want than the drop a bunch of money on 4 year old software.
