    hi

I am planning to buy new system for my small setup. My config is G5 2.7DP, FCP 4.5, Decklink Extreme, SCSI storage with ATTO 4D. i need advice from all of u on this. My most of the work will be SD for time being. i was just wondering about Compatibility of Tiger and FCP 4.5 and Decklink. I just eager to know about FCP 5. All suggestions are welcome.

    regards

Drop SCSI and go Fibre Channel. Apple hasn’t supported SCSI for OS X and it’s up to the card / drive manufacturers to make it work. (notice Apple doesn’t sell a SCSI card or SCSI drives?)

I prefer the AJA Kona 2 for a capture card though the Aurora Pipe series is a close second.

    Hi,

The Medea Fibre Channel Video Raid reviewed here supports SCSCI Drives so you could migrate to Fibre Channel and use your SCSI drives:

You might also want to check his benchmarks. A cheap SATA array is just as fast.
