buying HARD DRIVES (most dependable)
Just looking for a little advice out there.
Is G-Tech still the industry standard for storage, or were they bought out and have more issues now?
What about LaCie? I’ve had pretty decent luck with them.
What have you had success with? other companies/drives to check out?
I’m looking for a dependable drive to store my video files, including RED footage. Somewhere from 1tb-4tb.
Really appreciate any advice you guys might offer.

the CalDigit VR seems to please a lot of people.
We have G-RAIDs at my work, and I’ve never had a problem with them.

Been using Maxx Digital RAIDs here going on 3 or 4 years now. Solid and dependable. We’re now running 48TB total storage from them with 32TB of it shared storage. I have an article here on the Cow about our Final Share SAN system, though they make smaller products as well.
Small Tree Granit Stor is a great product and those are some of the smartest guys in the business.
WiebeTech makes an awesome set of trayless RAID units where you can install your own drives at will. We use it for archiving media but you can also edit off of them no problem. We have the RTX200 model here.
Beyond those, Sonnet and Dulce also make excellent products.

I have the 8tb esata raid and it has been rock solid.
