Buy a friends PC of wait out the new Mac or PC Desktop.
Okay so I don’t want this to be a huge Mac vs. PC debacle, because trust me 99.9% of the time I am on the PC side of this arguement. However, with the new intel chips coming out and Mac’s ability to run windows and osx its pretty tempting. Anyway, a friend of mine may be selling a desktop that is a 3 ghz with 2gb or ram and 256 MB graphics card for around $300. However, I am not in desperate need of something immediately and would like something with the new Conroe chips. The reason I post this here is because my main reason for using a Mac is final cut and I do use both, but tend to prefer final cut. What do you guys think on both the PC side of this question on waiting or buying used and on the Premiere vs final cut. Can premiere hold its own, because to me it seems to falter in a few areas that final cut shines. Though of course to be fair, it has some nice features that FCP doesn’t. Just looking for some honest opinions, no rants or bashing.

Please do a search on the forum, there is a new thread in this about every two days, and it turns out it never gets anywhere.
If you like FCP better, wait for that Intel Mac and stick with it 😉

Really depends on your preferences. But, for that amount, the PC is definitely worth it.
