    I receive the following error after upgrading to MC 5 from 4. I have an academic license:

    Bus error in thread main thread, at address 0x0

    My system is an 8 core 2.26 mac pro with a UL5D and two external SCSI arrays. I am running 10.6.5 I have no special fonts installed as I read up online this could be an issue. Any help would be appreciated.

    UPDATE: I am actually running 10.6.4 as 10.6.5 does not exist yet. I have actually gone through the uninstall and reinstall process and I am up and running. I am blown away that it does not tell you to do this anywhere.

    It’s usually in the read me. This from the MC 5 read me:

    If you are updating from a previous release, you should first uninstall the existing editing
    application.

    It later gives the instructions on how to do so.
