I’m wondering if AME supports any kind of plug-ins, such as a timecode generator, which it is sorely lacking currently. This omission is the only reason I still use Apple Compressor; I need burnt-in timecode, and AME simply can’t do it, and I’m not prepared to go through the workaround of adding a timecode effect in FCP and waiting for it to render.

The ‘Gaussian Blur’ under ‘Filters’ looks very lonely – it seems like there should (in future?) be a nice bunch of plug-ins that would slot in here nicely. Unless somebody out there knows of such a thing already existing? I do hope so!

I’ve done a feature request to Adobe for this, but there’s no specific Media Encoder feature request section, so it’s just lumped in as a Creative Suite request. I wonder if any Adobe folk look at this forum? I know one or two regularly read the After Effects Cow forum.

Make Adobe Media Encoder requests under Premiere Pro or After Effects when using the feature-request form. The development teams overlap.
