I have a question about how I can burn my DVD to widescreen on Sony Vegas using DVD Architect? Must I render it to widescreen and then it will burn widescreen or what? I’ve been burning all of my projects to 4:3 but feel like I should probably switch to widescreen with everyone getting LCD, Plasma, LED, etc. I did burn my HD content to DVD and played it on my PS3 and it automatically came out widescreen. However, I burned the same project to DVD and it came out 4:3. Thanks for the help!

    Yeah!!!

Make sure your Vegas Project Properties are set to NTSC (or PAL) DV Widescreen (720×480, 29.970 fps).
When you’re done, render to MPEG-2 using the DVD Architect NTSC (or PAL) Widescreen video stream preset.
In DVDA, change your properties from 4:3 to 16:9.
That’s all there is to it.

Jay, what is your source footage? You don’t want to end up stretching or cropping footage, which typically happens when going from a 4:3 source to 16:9.

Ideally, your input source should match your output dimensionally.
