Does anyone know what bit rate settings Vegas uses to do this? Can they be adjusted? Thanks.

I’ve never used the feature because you have no control of the parameters.

Right, I guess it’s for down and dirty copies.

If you wanted a quickie to review your work on a DVD player, I guess it has its place. I just prefer to make the MPEG and AC3 files then use DVDA.

But, you bring up a good question – how does Vegas determine the encoding parameters for the direct to DVD option? My guess is that it is a CBR at a calculated bit rate depending on the length.

You could get an idea by downloading BitRate Viewer a free tool, and analysing the DVD files in that.
