I have about 1min 25seconds worth of some edited graphics and uncompressed video files. I burned the timeline to DVD using premiere pro 2 “Export to DVD.” I used VBR 2 pass and set min rate to 5, max to 9, and target to 8. PCM audio. Burned perfectly, and looked amazing….now here is the problem.

The boss wanted a couple font changes and the entire thing to be basically “shortened.” So I cut about 25 seconds off and did some minor font changes, as well as adding an extra, small graphic. Now it wont burn, it will encode but it says I need to lower the rate to fit.

The animation is shorter now, and maybe a few kbs worth of added graphics. Why wont it work all of a sudden? Shouldn’t I be able to increase the bit rate overall?

For footage under 1 hr, use CBR 8.

9 is too high for any burner, and you might start to see errors.

2 Pass VBR won’t make any difference in quality for that small amount of time, you’ll simply more than double the render time.
