    My second question is:

    Is there a faster way to export to DVD, other than to choose the “burn to DVD” option in the export menu. Just curious.

    Thank you!

    If you need only one copy, the Burn to DVD option is ok, but the Burn to Folder option is by far faster if you anticipate needing more copies later. Once the VIDEO_TS folder is created you can use your DVD burning app to create copies in just a few minutes each.

    There are several settings in the encoder that can cause slow encoding;

    The worst offender is the Quality slider which is by default set to 5. Moving it to 3 will result is much faster encoding with no noticeable effects on quality.

    Also, 2 pass VBR takes twice as long as single pass CBR and does little good if your movie is 75 minutes or less.

    Hey Mike!

    Is it better to burn to a folder than to burn an ISO file, and if so, why? I never gave it much thought until I just read your post. Do you know?

    [Steven L. Gotz] “Do you know?”

    No, other than an advantage of transferring the data over the internet in a zipped or archived format.

    I never had an issue with the folder option.
