Is there a way to capture the timecode via firewire using the display settings? Or is it for VHS/Composite recording’s only?

    Thanks,

I don’t think so. The timecode you’re seeing is a display of the TC on the tape – it is not video footage in any way (the same way your audio monitors aren’t recorded as video footage). I believe you’d have to put in a TC burn in post and re-record do what you suggested, set the display to run out of your composite display and make a dub that way.

It can be embedded in your composite signal only and you have to turn it on with the disply button under the flip out screen (I think)
