Burn-in on computer screen
Hi~
I have an IMAC-G5. Over the weekend I was importing a movie to edit, and my computer stayed on the capture screen for 3 days instead of going to a screen saver. So I have an image burn-in in two small spots. Is this fixable somehow? Also, does anyone know how to change a setting do something to get the G5 to sleep or screen-save after Capture time has expired?Thanks,

To change your system settings click on the apple in the upper left corner. See the item “system preferences”? Click on that. There are two things that you can do to alter how a computer goes to “sleep”. If you just want the screen saver to kick in but not put the computer to sleep, then look at the top row of icons under “personal”. Find the “Desktop and screensaver” icon. Open it and you’ll find the settings to activate your screen saver. If you really want the whole CPU to go to sleep then go to “Hardware” and look at “energy saver”. There you will find the settings for putting the computer to sleep.
By the way, most screen burn in will “self heal” after you continue to use the screen. Depends on how bad it is of course.

Thanks for the response. I already have my computer Energy Saver mode on. I have both the Display and the Hard Disks set to sleep after 1 hour. Plus under the Desktop/Screensaver I have it set to Screen-save after 15 Minutes.Could it be possible that my computer still thinks it’s “active” when the “Capture Now has reached the end of user specified time limit” window is on the screen?
