September 22, 2005 at 3:35 pmIf you’re serious about editing, I recommend Final Cut if
you want to stay in sync with the rest of the industry.
pcs are fine for maya. -

September 22, 2005 at 5:06 pmthank you, but I know all about Final Cut, Avid, Pinacal Liquid, Sony Vegas, Adobe Premiere, Avid|DS ect.
I’m not having editing tool on my comp for other editors to say “Well, I only edit Final Cut”. I have my tools so I can maintain a project from shooting – through editing – to post production. And for that I am in sync. You know AAF?!
You know – in my country – people don’t care what tool you use. They care about getteing the result fast, cheap and with a very very very high end feel to it (they must be crazy!) – But never the less I havn’t met a director yet turning me down because my tool was of another shape or color than he/she was used to.
As long as my pipeline is all right I’m very much in sync with the idustry.
What I really wan’t is a new computer and I need help with the specs.
Thank you. 😉

September 25, 2005 at 10:03 pmHere’s the specs for the PC I just built with the big decision, and I’m so glad I got it, being the Dual Core AMD processor. It renders amazingly. Can’t recommend it highly enough if you’re going PC. I read a long report that compared it to the Intel Duals and basically AMD Duals are more efficient and faster if you’re running one app at a time.
