I’ve been searching and searching for a tutorial that shows me how to build a simple four sided exterior of a house. All I can find are finished products, but no tutorials. I have 3D element, I dont know if there is a simple way to do it in that plug in. Any help would be appreciated, tips, links to tutorials, anything.

    thanks,
    Ashley

Element basically does 2 things. It extrudes text generated in AE AND it also allows you to bring in OBJ 3D model files and texture them.

Does this sound like what you want to do? If so you will need to get a 3D program to model the walls of the house (I suggest using Blender). Then export them as an OBJ file which you then can import into Element.

This is kinda what I’m aiming for. I want to create it myself, this says it’s an After Effects template, but I’m struggling to see how this clip was achieved in AE though.

You don’t need to have any 3rd party plugin for this. This is just simple animation of 3D Layers with a lot of planning and a blue print.

The camera movement can be done using a Null as Dolly.

    See the tutorial:

    https://lesterbanks.com/2009/11/after-effects-simple-camera-rig/

You just need to use basic animation in 3d space to create the house.

This tutorial may help to understand the basics:
