    Hi,

I’m making the switch to Resolve, and we are in the process of reconfiguring the existing system. Previously, it was set up for Apple Color, with HD SDI monitoring via a Kona LHE card. I was often grading Red 4K, with a proxy in Color, and monitoring and rendering to HD. This worked fine.
Because Resolve doesnt like Kona, we are replacing it with a Blackmagic Decklink SDI/HD card. We are replacing the ATI 4870 card with NVIDIA G force GT 285 for the GPU and the NVIDIA Gforce 120 for the GUI. We are following the recommendations from Blackmagic here.

My main concern is switching to the Decklink card. We cant upgrade to the Extreme yet, so will be getting the SDI/HD card. I do work frequently with Red. All the work I do is rendered to HD, and monitoring in HD on the Panasonic 26″ has been completely sufficient. Anyone see any problems with this? Any thoughts?

    the full specs:

ATI Radeon 4870 in slot 1
    Kona LHE in slot 2
    ESATA in slot 3

Just get the 470 from the Bay and enjoy double the performance.
SDI HD will work just fine too.
