    Hi I am putting together a new system for Adobe premier pro with the intent of
    alot of hdv editing also , I curently use premier pro on a dual core 3gig pc box with an average video card ,Would I see a big gain if I go for the dual core xeon chips ( making a quad system ) or adding a really good GPU video card .Is there any advatage to a much better GPU .Thanks for any thoughts on this !

    GPU? Not so much.
    A faster processor? Absolutely.

    I’d be interested in staying in contact with you to see what you ultimately decide to do. I’m in exactly the same position with the same kind of present machine. It does well, but I hav’nt tried HD with it.
