I’m a newbie when it comes to HD editing. Need advice on the RAID setup and different components I may need. I plan on purchasing the new Sony HVR-V1U with 24p progessive scan capture. This is the current setup in my Mac Pro:

    Processor 3.00 GHz Quad Xeon
    Memory 2GB 667 DDR2 FB DIMM ECC-4×512
Graphics Card ATI Radeon X1900 XT 512MB
Hard Drive Bay1 250GB Serial ATA (3 more bays available)

I was planning on putting either four 250GB or four 500 GB HDs in the four available internal slots and externally hooking up a Hard Drive through an eSATA connection for the OS and other programs. Do I need to add four more HDs externally and stripe all 8 together to get proper write/read speed?
What Hard Drives (size and model) would you most recommend?
And finally, do I need the Black Magic DECKLINK-HD-PRO Video Capt.Card?

    Any advice would be welcomed.
