I’m looking into either buying a new iMac/Mac Pro, or building a Windows Machine that is super powerful. I would like to get one that would let me work on some of the supercomplex AE files without lagging my machine.
I know RAM is important, but graphics card is also. Would 16GB of Ram be good, or is more needed? The iMac can go up to 32GB, where as the Mac Pro goes to 64GB.

Any thoughts/ideas/suggestions will be taken! And thanks in advance!

Also – according to Adobe the GeForce GTX 660M is supported by After Effects CS6. The card is in the Low-End iMac, but in the High-End 27inch the card is GeForce GTX 675MX. Does that mean that card is not support by After Effects?

I did a search for “mac computer” on the main forum and there are a few good links there. You should check them out and if you still have questions you might want to post your question over there.
