Hi, I’m trying to create some wiggly eyes in After Effects. I’d like the movement of the iris/pupils to correspond to the movement of a skeleton they will be linked to, but if that’s not possible, I’m okay with it being random as long as it stays within the circle of the sclera.

    Any ideas?

You’ll want to provide details on the wiggle or could it be random that you’re looking for? A Reference animation, even one of another object that exhibits the identical motion will help.

OR a defined description of the wiggle will also be helpful.

For the skeleton’s movement, which part of the skeleton do you want to link to? Is this part always moving. Do you want the wiggle to only animate when the skeleton is moving but come to a stop and how do you want the stop to happen – gradual, bouncy or immediate stop.

    Lots of possibilities.

Hi Roland, thank you for your kind response. I think I made the initial explanation more complicated than necessary. What I want to do is simply emulate the natural movement of the GOOGLY eyes found in toys. The eyes will be linked to the head of a moving character (a chicken), and I would like the movement of the iris/pupil to naturally respond to the character’s actions. If the character stops, the eyes should gradually come to a stop after a few bounces (as would happen in reality), and when it starts moving again, the eyes should immediately respond.

    Something like this:
