No experience, but i’m currently programming a software multicam recorder.

It contains of one master application that can control multiple recorders over a network.
The recorders can be any computer, as long as they have a capture device installed that comes with a VDIG
(so any standard mac can ingest over Firewire without any installation of extra software)
It supports all resolutions/codecs, but of course your recording CPU’s have to be capable…

Next to that, i’ve developed an application that tracks tally signals from a switcher, so if you record all cameras ISO, you can have a finished multicam sequence two minutes after you’ve stopped capturing, ready for finetuning.

Mail me direct if you’re interested.

How are you handling timecode for each iso record? This works out to about $8,000 or more per recorder what with Kona Cards and fiber, XSAN etc. plus software. Is that about right?
