September 29, 2007 at 2:37 pmNo experience, but i’m currently programming a software multicam recorder.
It contains of one master application that can control multiple recorders over a network.
The recorders can be any computer, as long as they have a capture device installed that comes with a VDIG
(so any standard mac can ingest over Firewire without any installation of extra software)
It supports all resolutions/codecs, but of course your recording CPU’s have to be capable…Next to that, i’ve developed an application that tracks tally signals from a switcher, so if you record all cameras ISO, you can have a finished multicam sequence two minutes after you’ve stopped capturing, ready for finetuning.
Mail me direct if you’re interested.

September 29, 2007 at 4:39 pmHow are you handling timecode for each iso record? This works out to about $8,000 or more per recorder what with Kona Cards and fiber, XSAN etc. plus software. Is that about right?
