BUG: Modified audio channel settings disappear after re-link of media.
Just submitted this bug report. Anyone encountering this issue?
Steps to Reproduce Bug:
1. Modify embedded audio channels on a QT Pro Res clip to be 6 channel mono instead of 8 channel mono by turning off first two channels.
2. Cut into a sequence to verify that you only see 6 channels of audio which would be correct.
3. Move original file to new directory or alternate hardrive and re-link to media.
4. Move same clip into the sequence, you’ll see that it has 8 channels again. Results:
Clip previously cut in sequence remains at the desired 6 channels of audio, but the clip in the Project browser after a reconnect goes back to 8 channels of audio and strips the modify audio setting that had been put in place.Expected Results:
Instead, the clip after a reconnect to the identical media in a new directory, or a reconnect to a copy of the media should retain the work previously done and see that it has been modified so that only 6 channels of audio get cut into a sequence. This has been tested on CC 2015 9.1 and 9.2 on different boxes with different QT ProRes media. It has been tested on a Facilis Terrablock SAN using multiuser write volumes as well as locally to a normal hard drive.
It has been tested with XMP clip settings on and off.The implication is huge as it means that if we were to reconnect to a backup copy of our media that all of our audio mapping work would be lost.
