I’m using xpress 5.8, and for some reason it’s giving me this message when I try to ‘add edit’ ………

    Buffer Overrun detected
    Program… files/avid/avidxpresspro/avidxpresspro.exe

A buffer overrun has been detected which has corrupted the programs internal state. The program cannot safely continue execution and must now be terminated

I have a geforce 7600 gt ko graphics card. What do you experts think i’m doing wrong..

nuthin. Just findin bugs as ya go.
If it’s stil happening there after rebooting, it doesn’t like the medai right there. You can try replacing each clip in that area, often this’ll do it. (i mean on the timeline…not deleting the media and recapturing it…it’s prolly just a precompute)
If that still no worky, try making a little mixdown of that area. It’s a horrible band-aid practice to get into but it works when these other options fail.
…don’t forget ya can’t hit play while sittin on a big audio dissolve.could that be it?

i tried replacing the clip, and even took out the audio. I tried a whole new sequence with just a picture in there and it still will give me that message.

try smacking it on the side and yelling “why do insist on sucking!?”
    this works great sometimes.

sometimes it’s all in the order…. perhaps cussin’ it THEN hittin’ it was the combo this time.

I have the same buffer overrun problemn. It just shuts down immediately on first edit attempt. Did you ever get a work-around?
