Budget Setup for Student (CRT)
I currently have a Intensity Pro card connected to a Ikegami TM20-17R via Component but think it may be upgrading a bit and was wondering what I could do for a few hundred pounds/dollars. I thought maybe getting a Sony Grade 1 monitor may be the way to go but would love to here peoples thoughts. This will be to use with Resolve Lite.

I doubt you’d be able to get a grade 1 monitor, unless in useless shape for that kind of money. But maybe something like a PVM-20L5? For a 8-900 bucks. Would be without the hd-sdi board of course. But u can feed analog hd component into it.
In many ways that would be better for grading than some of the many “affordable” LCD solutions. Hell better than some of the unaffordable LCD solutions. 🙂

BVM-D24 and BVM-D32 Grade-1 CRT’s are a somewhat precious commodity which are allot of work to maintain and for which you can no longer get a new CRT replacement. Your best path is probably a HP Dreamcolor (used) fed through it’s Display Port interface.
More than $200 though.
