    Hi there,
got this itching question about the Browser window:
when you fill your comments in any of the logging columns, this info can be quickly duplicated by control-clicking in the column and choosing from a pop-up list.
Why is this list not in alphabetical order? If you have many different logging comments or scene numbers, it’s virtually impossible to find one in order to duplicate it somewhere else.

Does anyone know about this? Is there even a cure perhaps?

    Thanks! Arnoud

[Arnoud No] “Why is this list not in alphabetical order?”

That is such a great question,. It seems it would be simple enough, right? The way it is implemented is kind of confusing. There’s an answer, but it’s not really what you will want to hear.

If the browser is sorted by clip name, the log notes will be sorted that way as well. If you sort the browser by log note, the notes will be in alphabetical order. Now, that’s if you have no bins and all footage is at the root level of the browser.

If you have footage in bins and sort the browser by log note, the log notes will be sorted by bin first and then alphabetically.

Unfortunately, this trait does not carry over to the log and capture window. There it simply sorts by the order in which the log note was added.

Thanks Jeremy for clarifying that. Like you said it’s not the greatest sorting concept in the world but who knows now I at least understand it who knows ill be able to work with it!
    Cheers, Arnoud
