  Broken RAID5 array. Seeking assistance.

  After a power failure, one of our servers isn’t booting due to a problem with it’s RAID 5 array.

  Since RAID 5 uses a minimum of 3 disks, and thats all the server physically has, they should all be part of the array. However, the utility seems to suggest there are 2 arrays, which doesnt sound logically possible.

  I assume (hope) it should be possible to delete the erroneous array with the orphan drive, and re-add it back to the real array with the other 2 drives, and RAID 5 will repopulate the orphan with the proper data via parity. But how would I possibly know which array to delete? If I delete the wrong one, with the 2 out of 3 disks, it will be disastrous.

  And when it gives the option to delete one of the arrays, the choices are identical due to all 3 drives being the same. How do I choose?
